In time? Just-in-time? Real-time!

If there is anything new technologies have provided us with, it is convenience and means to save time. No more turning your house upside down in search for a paper bank statement. Just activate an app and check your balance real-time. Even children will easily find all the information they need to write a paper on a particular topic almost real-time. So much for our domestic environment, but how about our daily business environment?

Who wants to know today what went wrong yesterday?

Admittedly, many companies have invested in cutting edge Business Intelligence Systems and/or ERP software. And don’t get us wrong, we are not telling you that they shouldn’t. After all, these solutions provide them with very useful information to get or stay ahead of competition. It is the disclosure of that useful information that really needs a helping hand. These systems are generally updated once a day providing users with information that is at least half a day old. But how useful is it to find out now that a shipment could have been dispatched a day earlier provided you were given more timely information?

Increased predictability and self-guidance

To really improve service levels to their customers, companies should be prepared to take the next step: providing their employees with real-time information resulting in a higher degree of predictability and self-guidance. Disclosing information real-time by implementing our Texas Digital NCR Digital Signage solutions is not nearly as expensive as the underlying BI-systems and expenses can often be recovered by a FTE reduction or quality improvement. Just image the overall efficiency large contact centers for instance can bring about by reducing the average duration of calls by only a few seconds. Recently, one of our business relations took his process experience with corporate digital signage in a contact center to his new job in a logistics center of a leading machine manufacturer.

Listen to your mother!

Knowing that the site is driven by SAP’s ERP software combined with a warehouse management system, we would be able to bring down the disclosure of relevant information from almost a day to just a few minutes by implementing our Vitalcast/QuickCOM solution. In the expedition department, for instance, a simple system of red and green lights could visualize the status of orders in process. Increased anticipation and awareness would result in faster deliveries and happier customers. And why not use our screens to motivate employees by providing infotainment and interesting RSS-feeds at appropriate times during the day? As the system is easy to manage, information can be even tailored to individual plants or even departments just as you please. In other words: global reach, local touch. Our mothers told us never to put off till tomorrow what we can to today. And we all know they were right!
